| HAPPY NEW YEARS! ![]() To see the list of items, click HERE. 2010 wasn't the best year for me. I think I could have done so much better on my school work, maybe been nicer to people, listen to my parents more, and so much more that I will not share aloud. Hopefully, 2011 will be a better year for me. I never make new years resolutions, I don't really believe in them, I've tried making some new years resolutions before but I've failed many times. I'm just going to try to put much more effort in my school work than last year and to stop procrastinating, spending 60% of my free time on Facebook, not good. Gosh, a whole decade, gone. 2010 was an okay, obviously it had it's ups and down, overall, not a good year for me. I need to make some serious changes for 2011... sure.... I didn't do much today. Me and my family went out for Thai food at lunch and Indian for dinner. So good. I really wanted to go to Times Square for New Years, oddly, I've never been there on News Years, it's always so crowded and so cold, it's terrible. New Years in Times Square, NY. January 1st, 2010. -t I finally went outside today! I've stayed at home for the last 2 days and I've been very sick of it, I have not done anything productive. I watched TV, went online; Facebook, reading blogs, YouTube, Lookbook, texting back and forth with friends, admiring my new phone for about an hour, trying to work my DVD player and then giving up, and eating every 30 minutes. I did not watch The O.C. as planned, first, I couldn't get the DVD player to work and I just didn't feel like watching it anymore. I didn't do much while I was outside either, went to Forever 21, bought 1 nail polish and 2 sweaters and went to the supermarket. The snow is crazy. I love and loathe snow, me and the snow have a crazy relationship. I love snow but after a few days, it turns black and gets muddy and then it's hard to walk around. Poor car. -t Christmas is finally here. Like most Chinese people, we don't have elaborate Christmas dinners, gift openings on Christmas morning, and watch Miracle on 34th street, however, we did have a Christmas dinner last night, nothing fancy, it just consisted of a mini turkey, baked potatoes, broccoli, loose corn, and apple cider. On Christmas day, we went to Rockefeller Center, Times Square and Chinatown (It's a Christmas tradition for my family). Walked around, admired the Christmas tree from afar (it's always to crowded) and took pictures. We wanted to go to Red Lobster to have lunch at 3:30 PM, they told us 15-20 minutes... 20 minutes goes by... 30 minutes goes by... 50 minutes goes by... we decide to leave and yell at the employees. Then, we went to Grand Central Station to see if there was any good food there, of course, most of the food shops were closed. We left, went to Chinatown and ate Malaysian food, which wasn't good at all. At least, I got a new phone. In front of the giant Christmas tree at Rockefeller. Inside Minamoto Kitchoan. Tomorrow, I'll probably be staying home in my PJ's, sipping hot cocoa, and watching The O.C., life is good. -t Labels: 2010, Christmas, Minamoto Kitchoan, New York, Rockefeller center We're finally out of school, yes. I've been longing for the days to pass by so I could just have a care free week to myself and just chill with some friends. Today, we exchanged gifts for secret Santa, I gave my person a hardcover Beatles biography book, and she gave me some jewelry and some money. Yes, we got each other. We also built "gingerbread" houses (my group used graham crackers) for Math class, which was a waste of money and time, we ended up giving it away after school, "TAKE THE CANDY! TAKE IT! EAT IT!". A few minutes later, a 10th grader just took the whole thing out of our hands. Our "gingerbread" house complete with reindeer shit (tiny chocolate chips) in the backyard. "Santa's Workshop" I wore a green sweater today with a white collar around it, my Humanities teacher said it was very Christmas-y, my friends said I looked like a school girl in private school. Waffle fries lightly dusted with cocoa powder and chili powder with some spicy mayonnaise sauce (?) and a frozen lemonade. -t Labels: 2010, Christmas, gingerbread, max brenners, New York Pink blouse from Mom, Old leggings from Mom, Socks from Urban Outfitters, Ankle boots from Kmart. During Thanksgiving break, I said I would post the outfit that I wore for out Thanksgiving feast but never got the chance to, so now, I shall post it. A few weeks ago, in my Humanities class, we got assigned to a project called the Holden Map Project. We had to pick up a subway map from the train station and use a poster board and write down places where we thought Holden Caulfield (The Catcher in the Rye) would travel to. I Immediately got very excited for this project, I wrote a page for each site (we had to write at least two paragraphs). Today, I just got my grade back and I GOT HONORS! AHHHHHH YEAHHHH!!!! Honors! Equivalent to A+ In front of our Christmas tree. -t Labels: 2010, Christmas, outfits, Thanksgiving, tree Left to right: Loopy knit pullover from LaGarconne, Alexander McQueen leggings from Colette, Knee high socks from Forever 21, Boxy coat from LaGarconne, Aymara imelda scarf from Style Paste, Oona mesh oxfords from Loefler Randell, Black hexagon box clutch from Dorothy Perkins, Pamela Love Sterling silver arrowhead necklace from Net-a-Porter. Christmas is near, I am so excited. We've already purchased a tree and we're decorating it today. Ah, Christmas, it's the most wonderful time of the year. Today, it was snowing, yes, snowing. Not enough to cover the roads but the falling snow was still beautiful, of course, I couldn't really enjoy it because I woke up at 7:50 AM (SO LATE) and I had to rush in the freezing cold weather to school. I've been so busy. On the weekend, I had a violin solo on Saturday and on Sunday, I had an interview for High School, meanwhile, I am also working on the Catcher in the Rye essay. -t I've spent hours injuring myself because I kept walking around into stores looking for stuff -nothing in particular- because today was Black Friday. I'm not like those crazy people who wait outside of Best Buys or Walmart two days ahead. This year there was a man who waited outside of Best Buys since Tuesday, I hate using acronyms but seriously, WTF? You could have gotten there after Thanksgiving dinner and it wouldn't make a difference, but kudos to him for waiting outside in the raining and bizarre weather conditions. I didn't get much, but my parents are loaded. I am so in love with the Modern Bohemian collection from APART. The Modern Bohemian collection was definitely the best collection. Normally, I wouldn't wear this but there is a certain vagueness about these sets, they're quite amazing and very original. I've always avoided wearing big fur coats or vests because I'm such a little person- compared to my friends -but I might actually buy a fur vest someday, it really complements any outfit and they're great for the boho style. Check out more of APART's collections HERE. -t Labels: 2010, APART, Black friday, Collections, fall, Modern Bohemian, winter HAPPY THANKSGIVING! I'm actually a little mad because I woke up at 12 pm and because my dad went out to run errands and my mom over slept too so I missed the Macy's Thanksgiving parade! I never miss it, I've never gone to the actual parade but I would always watch it on TV and I missed it! For Thanksgiving I'm going to my Aunt's house, you know, the usual; turkey, gravy, stuffing, cranberry sauce and whatever else should be added to a traditional Thanksgiving feast but we like to add Chinese food, we're Chinese and we just like to add some Chinese food food. My dad made a Pumpkin Cheesecake to bring over and it is so delicious! In case anyone still needs to make a dessert for Thanksgiving, here something you should try: Pumpkin Cheesecake: INGREDIENTS Crust: You can also buy crust at your local supermarket. 1 ½ cups of graham crackers, crushed finely 3 tbsp. melted butter Filling: 8 oz. softened cream cheese ¾ cup of raw sugar 1. tsp. vanilla extract 2 eggs 1 cup canned pumpkin (do not use pumpkin pie filling) ¾ tsp. ground cinnamon ¼ tsp. nutmeg Directions: 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a medium bowl, mix the crushed graham crackers and butter. Press into the bottom of a springform pan, about 1 inch up the sides. Bake crust 10 minutes. Set aside to cool down. 2. In a medium bowl, mix the cream cheese, ½ cup of raw sugar and vanilla until smooth. Mix in eggs one at a time, blending well. Blend the remaining ¼ cup of raw sugar, pumpkin, cinnamon, and nutmeg into the mixture. 3. Bake for 55 minutes, or until filling is set. Run a knife around the edge of the pan. Allow cooling before removing pan rim. Chill for at least 4 hours. Add whip cream or pecans for garnish. Hope you've enjoyed this lovely recipe and have a lovely Thanksgiving, have a lovely feast! I'll post my outfit when I get back. -t Labels: 2010, feast, recipes, Thanksgiving | About tiffany- from nyc and i like kpop Music |
